About SHEELD

Shiloh Economic and Entrepreneurial Development and Lifelong Development Corporation (SHEELD), located in Plainfield, NJ, is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to strengthening economic development in Plainfield and surrounding communities.

SHEELD’s mission is to proactively address community needs by providing social services that empower and uplift disadvantaged families while creating economic development opportunities. The organization demonstrates compassion by providing hot, well-balanced meals (The Lord’s Kitchen) and food donations (Food Pantry) to individuals in need, regardless of race, color, creed, religion, age, sex, or sexual orientation. SHEELD also works to improve food security by offering resources, support, and hope to residents facing economic challenges.

The organization is committed to positively influencing the social, cultural, educational, economic, and physical well-being of Plainfield and neighboring communities. Through investments in human capital, education, economic development, civic engagement, and community partnerships, SHEELD collaborates with the City of Plainfield on health screenings, COVID-19 testing and vaccinations, senior education services, and access to critical support resources.
